Travis Phillips is a manger in the Chattanooga office. With over 14 years of experience, he prepares and reviews tax returns and projections, consults clients on complex tax matters, oversees staff schedules, and performs a number of assurance services including financial statement preparation. He provides services to clients in various industries such as construction, real estate, manufacturing, transportation and franchises.
Additionally, Travis is heavily involved in HHM's emerging business and start-up services niche. With personal experience in the start-up and operation of several businesses, he can offer clients a unique perspective in understanding the needs of their business.
Travis enjoys building relationships with clients, referral sources, and colleagues alike. He manages and serves as a mentor to new staff members and is responsible for new hire project assignments. By working with new staff members, he is able to expose them to various jobs and responsibilities to help develop and broaden their skills.
Prior to joining HHM in 2015, Travis developed a variety of technical skills through working six years in public accounting, then four years in private industry. He relocated to Tennessee in 2009 after living in the Florida Panhandle for his early life. A highly-motivated individual, he completed his MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga while raising a young family and working full-time.
Travis is an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, teaching Principles of Accounting to students at the College of Business.
In his free time, Travis enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, playing sports, and enjoying the outdoors through activities such as gardening and fishing.
