HHM CPAs Welcomes Matt Murphy as Partner

HHM Certified Public Accountants, a full-service accounting and consulting firm, is proud to announce that Matt Murphy, CPA, has joined the firm as a Partner in its Memphis office where he will provide assurance and advisory services. Matt brings more than a decade of experience in accounting, assurance and financial reporting.

Prior to joining HHM, Matt has nearly 10 years of experience with Big 4 accounting firms, where he most recently served as a Senior Manager and was responsible for leading audit engagements of large multinational public companies as well as privately held companies, specifically private equity-backed organizations within the retail, manufacturing, distribution, and real estate industries. He has advised clients on complex accounting, financial reporting, and transaction-related matters, including business combinations, revenue recognition, and lease accounting. Further, Matt also supported clients through significant business transformation initiatives and capital market transactions, including initial public offerings (IPOs), internal control readiness, multi-year ERP implementations, debt offerings, and SEC reporting and compliance requirements.  

Earlier in his career, Matt served as a Senior Financial Analyst with one of the nation’s largest automotive aftermarket retailers, where his responsibilities included SEC reporting, preparation of earnings materials and key management reporting, and forecasting.

Matt is a Certified Public Accountant and was a student-athlete at the University of Tennessee at Martin where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with majors in accounting and finance.  

Matt is a lifelong Memphian and remains actively involved in professional and community organizations in and around the city of Memphis and is passionate about the development of accounting professionals.
